With the onset of the global COVID-19 pandemic this March 2020, the Ultrasound Society of the Philippines Fellowship Training Council (USP-FTC) has adapted to the new normal for continuing education by embarking on the digital system for conferences.
Last September 26, 2020, the USP Fellowship Training Council conducted the first Online Scientific Meeting through the Zoom platform with the webinar entitled Basics of Shoulder and Knee Ultrasound (with MRI Correlation).
The program moderator was Dr. Benigno R. Santi II, FPCR, FUSP. Dr. Pedro Danilo J. Lagamayo, USP President delivered the Welcome Remarks
The very able guest lecturer for this webinar is Dr. Michael Rico B. Mesina, FPCR, FUSP, who is presently, the Radiology Residency Training Officer of the Dr. Victor R. Potenciano Medical Center. The participants gained practical tips on how to perform Shoulder and Knee Ultrasound and how to recognize normal ultrasound anatomy of these structures as well as identify basic pathologies.
The USP-FTC Chairman, Dr. Ma. Trisha S. Lapus conveyed her thanks in her Closing Remarks and acknowledged the Event sponsor for this meeting, NPK Medical Trading Inc.
The Ultrasound Society of the Philippines Fellowship Training Council (USP-FTC) then held the first Online Interesting Case Report Series last December 2, 2020, with Ultrasound Fellows-in-training from Chong Hua Hospital in Cebu City as presenters on Pediatric Biliary Pathologies.
The program commenced with the Welcome Remarks by Ultrasound Society of the Philippines (USP) President, Dr. Pedro Danilo Lagamayo. The moderator was Dr. Nelia Tarongoy, MD, FPCR, FUSP, consultant of Chong Hua Hospital.
The First Interesting Case was presented by Dr. Gian Carlo Gimeno on Biliary Atresia while the Second Interesting Case was presented by Kenneth Brian Tan, MD on Ampullary Mass.
Dr. Trisha Lapus, USP FTC Chairman delivered the Closing Remarks.
An exciting Menti Quiz was conducted and spearheaded by Dr. Roger De Venecia, one of the USP Board of Trustees with the following winners: Dr. Karl Cuvin, Dr. Krisette Bautista, Dr. Wynnd Mercado, Dr. Rafael King Cataluña and Dr. John Patrick Jaen.
